We may use services such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, Microsoft/Bing Ads, Meta/Facebook advertising tools, and similar analytics or advertising platforms. You can control cookies through your browser settings. You may also be able to manage advertising preferences directly through the relevant advertising platforms. If we are subject to the CCPA, you may opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as described in the “Your Privacy Choices” section below.

We may disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients:

• Other parties with your consent or at your direction.

We require service providers and contractors to use personal information only as necessary to perform services for us and to protect personal information appropriately.

6. Sale or Sharing of Personal Information

We do not sell personal information for money.

However, some California laws define “sale” and “sharing” broadly. If we use advertising cookies, pixels, remarketing tools, or similar technologies to show you ads based on your activity across different websites, that may be considered “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or, in some cases, a “sale” under California law.

The categories of personal information that may be sold or shared in this way include:

• Identifiers, such as IP address, online identifiers, cookie IDs, or hashed contact information;

• Internet or other electronic network activity information;

• Commercial information, such as product or service interests; and

• Inferences about preferences or interests.

The categories of third parties to whom this information may be sold or shared include advertising networks, social media platforms, analytics providers, and marketing technology providers.

You may opt out by clicking “Your Privacy Choices” or “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” in our website footer, by using the request methods below, or by enabling a recognized opt-out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control where required by law.

7. Global Privacy Control and Opt-Out Preference Signals

If we are required by applicable law to honor opt-out preference signals, we will treat a recognized browser-based opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control, as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for the browser or device that sends the signal.

Because these signals are browser- and device-specific, you may need to enable the signal on each browser and device you use. If you clear cookies or use a different browser or device, your opt-out preferences may not carry over unless you submit a separate request or use a persistent account-based preference where available.

8. Your Privacy Choices

Depending on where you live and whether applicable privacy laws apply to us, you may have the right to:

• Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, sell, or share;

• Access the personal information we have collected about you;

• Request deletion of personal information, subject to legal exceptions;

• Request correction of inaccurate personal information;

• Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information;

• Limit the use or disclosure of sensitive personal information, where applicable;

• Receive information about our data practices;

• Not be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights; and

• Use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.

To exercise your rights, contact us using one of the methods below:

We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests. Verification may require matching information you provide with information we already maintain. We will use information provided for verification only to verify and respond to your request, unless you provide it for another purpose.

If you use an authorized agent, we may require proof that you authorized the agent to act on your behalf, and we may also require you to verify your identity directly with us unless an exception applies.

9. Marketing Communications

We may contact you with marketing, promotional, or informational messages about our products and services, subject to applicable law.

You may opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in the email or contacting us. You may opt out of text messages by replying STOP, if applicable. You may also ask us not to contact you for marketing by using the contact methods listed in this policy.

Even if you opt out of marketing communications, we may still send non-marketing messages, such as appointment confirmations, service updates, transaction notices, warranty information, account messages, legal notices, or responses to your requests.

Consent to receive marketing calls or text messages is not required as a condition of purchasing goods or services, unless separately disclosed and permitted by law.

10. Call Recording and Quality Assurance

We may monitor, record, transcribe, or review phone calls, voicemails, and other communications for quality assurance, training, customer service, compliance, dispute resolution, and business purposes. Where required by law, we will provide appropriate notice or obtain consent before recording calls.

11. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

Our retention periods are based on factors such as:

• The type and sensitivity of the information;

• The purpose for which it was collected;

• Whether you are a lead, prospect, customer, past customer, vendor, or other contact;

• Warranty, project, contract, tax, accounting, insurance, licensing, or legal requirements;

• The need to prevent fraud, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain business records; and

• Our legitimate business needs.

In general:

• Lead and inquiry records may be retained for up to 7 years after the last interaction;

• Customer, project, contract, warranty, and transaction records may be retained for up to 10 years or longer where necessary;

• Call recordings may be retained for 2–4 years unless needed longer for customer service, compliance, disputes, training, or legal purposes;

• Legal, tax, accounting, insurance, and compliance records may be retained for the period required by law or legitimate business needs.

12. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Children’s Privacy

Our website and services are intended for adults and homeowners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

14. Links to Third-Party Websites

Our website may contain links to websites, platforms, or services that we do not operate or control. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or security of third-party websites or services. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing personal information.

15. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer “Do Not Track” signals. There is not yet a consistent industry standard for responding to Do Not Track signals. We do not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals in a uniform way.

Where required by applicable law, we do honor recognized opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, as described above.

16. California “Shine the Light” Rights

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 may allow California residents to request information about whether we have disclosed certain personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, contact us at info@yanceyhomeimprovements.com and include “Shine the Light Request” in the subject line.

17. Financial Incentives

We do not currently offer financial incentives or price or service differences in exchange for the collection, retention, sale, or sharing of personal information. If we offer such a program in the future, we will provide any required notice and obtain any required consent.

18. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we update it, we will revise the “Last Updated” date above. If we make material changes, we may provide additional notice as required by law.

Hear What Your Neighbors Have to Say

I need a total bathroom remodel, and everyone at Yancey has been a delight to work with. All my questions have been answered, the choices of materials were abundant, and Scott guided us expertly through the process one step at a time. I would highly recommend them!

Laura Powell

Yancey was awesome to work with. My estimator was Brian Speaks, and he made the entire experience simple and enjoyable for us. There was no high pressure sales, and Brian went out of his way to make sure we got exactly what we wanted and needed. His pricing was fair, and he helped us get financing right on the spot. If I would provide more than 5 stars, I would.

Ryan Calderwood

Tommy was very helpful in explaining the roofing process and itemizing the pricing. He was upfront and honest about policy and interpreting the contract for my mother and I. We are a house full of women and we are always worried about being taken advantage of price-wise but we were not treated that way. Thank you for the excellent service and stunning new roof!

Caroline H

I chose Yancey for my reroof because of their business longevity. They've run into every situation imaginable and Brian addressed these concerns in the contract. Being told in advance is an explanation, being told after the fact is an excuse. They gave no excuses. The team working was always on time and did exceptional quality work with dry rot repair. The roof looks great and I expect it to work well for years to come.
